License for Games Factory 1 Assets

Here's an interesting question for you, what is the legal status for any assets from a copy of The Games Factory Pro? I bought a copy must have been about 12 years ago now (I was 13 at the time), and never really did much with it. But I just got out of college in computer science, and have been putting together a game programming portfolio and have been need of sample project assets. I remembered that I did own a Pro copy, and used a few sprites in a project of mine (an asteroid clone written in my own engine).
Now I'm wondering if I can even use them. I mean I own a license and all, but I'm not using them in a TGF project. Anybody have any thoughts?
