Using physics objects with non physics movements

Is this possible? For example, if i didnt fancy using the new physics for a platformer could i still use springs/treadmills etc? I did a very quick test with no luck, but kinda hoping it's somewhat possible?

    cheers

Of course you can. You have to insert the physics engine don't forget.

Now I see what you mean, BUT,.switch the platform object over to Physics Platform. But it looks like there is a bug,.there is no effect on the object when it enters the fan, unless I'm doing something wrong. If not I would report this to Bug Tracker. We all have to remember,.2.5 is new and CT will fix all this in later updates.

I don't believe the treadmill or fan objects will work with the old movements, as they are only supposed to work with the Physics movements, and, from the sounds of things, interaction between objects with the physics movements and without the physics movements are limited because of the way Box2D works, so such things probably can't get added easily. However, why would you want to use the old, buggy platform movement that dates back to Klik N' Play (or some other really old Clickteam product like that) when you can use the shiny new one that will actually get improvements as time goes on?

That was just an example. I'd prefer to use PMO, but if that wont work either.

My issue with the new platform object is it seems a bit buggy at the moment and doing things i don't want it to do. I was more hoping i could use PMO with the physics movement really so that i get the best of both worlds.

    I will continue testing though.

Well, what bugs are you encountering with the physics platform movement? You should probably report any bugs you find in the bug box.
