    Post Help with very big externals pictures...

    Hi, i actually loading somes big pictures from disk with "active picture"...my pictures are very very big, png pictures with alpha (24062 px x 3389 px)....the loading take a very long time...the user can zoom on it and drag on the screen....the zoom is doing via math formula....
    Is there a way to optimise the picture loading? not have the time to crop the pictures in somes little part...
    trying to allow more memory to my app with the kernel object...bu,t not noticed big differences....
    I idea?

    loading a very big asset in a game is not a good idea in general... what are you trying to accomplish? what are this active picture are for?

    Hi, no, it's not a game, it's a App to visualising a very bigmap with roads and roads modifications....so, the user can zoom, pan and click on somes interactive zones...

    That is what you will have to do - just divide your image up into tiles, and load only the ones that are on screen (the same as google maps etc).
    It's no good just saying you don't have time or can't be bothered.
