    Question Connect a flashgame to a lacewing server

    Hello,

    I made a custom lacewing server.exe and I try to connect to it from a flash game, but I can't figure out how to do this.

    In my server, I use Flash Player Policy Server > Host and select my .xml, the content of this one is :

    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd">
    <cross-domain-policy>
    <site-control permitted-cross-domain-policies="all"/>
    <allow-access-from domain="*" to-ports="6121" />
    </cross-domain-policy>

    The server hosts with port 843.
    The flashgame tries to connect using port 6121.

    Both are launched on my computer, I'm testing it in local so.

    I missed something I guess, but what ? All of this lacewing thing with flash is still fuzzy for me.

    Regards.

    Yes, if I start the server using the standard [Relay Server] -> [Host].

    However, the flashgame can connect on ledev.org.

    That wasn't my question. Start the server as you would for the flash game, then try to have a non-flash client connect.

    Nope, both non-flash client and flash client refuse to connect in that case.

    Then your problem has nothing to do with flash and everything to do with how you are hosting the server.

    What is the correct complete process to have a working flash-compatible server then ?

    As I said, I use [Flash Player Policy Server] --> [Host] and select my .xml (Its content on my first topic).

    What else to do after that ?

    Both 843 and 6121 are forwarded.
    Also, are non-flash games supposed to be able to connect on a flash-compatible server ?

    Are you only hosting the flash policy? It doesn't host the lacewing server for you, you have to do that as well - both have to be running at the same time.

    All platforms are able to connect to any lacewing server, however flash clients need the additional flash policy server before flash allows the connection.

    Ah yeah, that's the part I was missing.

    However I'm still stuck.

    I run one app that hosts the policy file, and another separate app that hosts the lacewing server.
    The non-flash game can connect of course, but the flash one doesn't.

    I also tried to host both in the same app, with the same server object, and with two different server objects, was a failure as well.

    The client has to connect on 6121, right ? (I tested on 843 anyway)
    Is the xml file content correct ?

    Thanks for you replies so far, LB.

    EDIT:
    Hm what the. I made a new app, with only [Frame begin] --> [Host Flash Player policy server] --> [Host]
    and the [Flash Player policy server is hosting] condition doesn't triggers.

    I don't get it at all.

    Try adding "On Error" -> "Set alterable string to Error" to see the error message in a string object on the frame.
