Is there any update about lacewing For HTML5 Yet?
The broader issue is that web browsers don't support basic TCP socket connections, only a subset of HTTP sockets called "WebSockets", which require their own server setup.
This means that having a Lacewing client extension for HTML5 wouldn't be able to just connect to anything running a Lacewing server,
(that is unless the windows Lacewing extension gets updated to support WebSockets.)
I have already written a fairly basic WebSocket extension for those interested in utilizing them, link is somewhere around the html5 forums
Thanks DracisLooby for sharing that, good job! I never imagined Lacewing would be ported to HTML5 anytime soon, but that's great there is an alternate to have an experiment with.
Anyone else who comes across this, at this time of writing, the pre-release is here: http://community.clickteam.com/threads/85939-WebSockets-Extension-prerelease
