    1. What version of Fusion 2.5 are you using? Is it up to date?
    2. Does checking for updates through Fusion 2.5 work? (Help -> Check for updates)
    3. Have you looked into Firewall settings?

An alternative is to use the third-party ExtensionView, although it is written for MMF2 if you read http://community.clickteam.com/threads/83607-Guide-to-installing-Extensions it will explain how to get it to work with Fusion 2.5.

To #3: Your firewall settings may be blocking Fusion 2.5 from accessing the internet. Use Windows Firewall to create an exception to the program so it is allowed to communicate online.

I've noticed you're using Windows XP. Which version are you using? SP3? (Is it up-to-date?) Windows XP SP3 hits the minimal requirements for Fusion 2.5, if it's lacking updates or SP3 this could be the reason. You should take precaution using Windows XP after April 2014 when support ends.

You could also register your serial for Fusion 2.5 in the Forum Settings to access the Owners Lounge (near the bottom of the forums homepage), one of the beta builds could fix or produce different results to this problem. Otherwise, you may want to consider reporting this to the Bug Tracker.

I suspect this is due to the changes to the runtime (thus the requirements being lifted to XP SP3 or later) but the network protocol used may well be incompatible with Windows XP (it is an ancient operating system after all)

Users of Windows XP: Personally, I strongly suggest you upgrade to a newer version of Windows when possible before April 2014 (most support will be dropped or unmaintained) or switch to a free alternate (which can run Fusion 2.5 and/or MMF2 via the Wine compatibility layer.) if upgrading isn't a feasible option.
