Flash uses mp3 by default. Any WAV file you use will be converted in mp3.

Hi - I'm making an swf with 7 levels. Originally, I put 5 different mp3 music files in. The swf was 15.5 MB... too big for a quick download. So, I converted the mp3's to ogg's. The music files are about 15% smaller. Then I replaced the mp3's in my swf with the oggs. Now my swf is bigger, about 16.5 MB. When I look at the data elem ents in my mfa file, it shows all of the music files. Are the mp3's going into the SWF, even though they aren't being used? I couldn't delete any of the mp3's from the data elements windows. It had choice to replace or export, but not delete. My music seems to take up about half of my total swf file size. Thanks - Rich

Flash only works with mp3. If you put ogg in your game, they will be converted to mp3. The converter default sampling rate is set in the properties of the application, it might be slower than your original mp3 frequency, thus explaining the size difference.
