Exclamation How to create a Windows 8 App?

    Hi,

I tried to create a Windows 8 App for the normal Windows 8 & Windows 8 RT Store but if I export the game with the XNA exporter (newest Version from the Owners Laouch is installed) and load it in Visual Studio (VS 2012 Ultimate x64) a Message is show up, that Windows isnt a supported Platform for XNA Game Studio Apps and the Projekt can not loaded and started. Did I make a Fault or isnt it possible to create a Windows App with CF2.5 anymore or is it just possible with an other VS version? :-/

    greetings
    Droggelb

Hi Droggelbecher! You can't create Metro/Modern UI Application using XNA Exporter, then XNA not support for this. If you want create this application use HTML5 Exporter, but you need using special application framework for this too. I not testing this method, try it and report them, if you can.

hmm i dont have the HTML5 exporter and it is too risky now for the "maybe possibility" to export it successfully for the Metro UI i thought the XNA Windows App have a real function but i doesnt seem like that

I don't know what Clickteam is doing actually, but the XNA exporter has no interest since the release of WP8... They really need to replace it by a "Windows Devices" exporter(Win 8, Win RT, WP8, Xbox One?). We are too limited!

If you can put a note in the bug box about a feature request for the XNA exporter I am sure Francois would take a look.

I too would like to see the XNA object converted over for Win8 Phone use.

Microsoft is going to great lengths to encourage apps be released on the platform (cash incentives etc).
