    Question XCode for Windows???

I have been wanting to get the iOS exporter for some time, but do not own a Mac and would not see myself needing one really aside from compiling in XCode.

However, I have been wondering if it is possible to circumvent the necessity of a Mac, by installing Xcode within Windows.
There is a video here that seems to make it look pretty legitimate, but I question the credibility if this is a viable method for compiling apps made with Fusion 2.5.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sb8BdYH4esQ
This seems to be using Oracle VM VirtualBox.

Has anyone tried and succeeded with app compilations without having a Mac? Or any advice? I don't exactly have the money to buy a Mac, especially for just this, though I may find other uses later.

I'm actually very interested in this.
I was going to turn my PC into a Hacktintosh, but that requires purchasing another SSD, installing OSX and modifying some things for it to work.
Money I'd rather use to purchase the iOS runtime exporter & iOS developer account instead.

You may as well give it a go - it seems that the video is legitimate (just by judging from the comments/likes that it has). You haven't got much to lose by trying it IMO.

I guess I could. Going through the setup process now. I just wondered if the apps would actually compile in this method, if anyone had went this route since I haven't purchased the iOS Exporter.

    Hi,

You can do this if you use VMWare Player or VMWare Workstation. Mavericks is free on the MAC store too. I think it's against Apples regulations to use their OS on any machine which isn't a MAC.

I believe you still need a legit Mac in order to sign up as a developer (Serial Number of the machine)

    Hmm interesting.
My girlfriend has a macbook, i formatted and put windows 7 on it.
I wonder if its possible to sign up as a developer using that, and test/publish the apps on a VM?
ie do you only need the serial number to sign up, and then from then on its just a matter of logging into the account and publishing??
