Thread: Objects stop generating - iOS only (IMAGE)

    Objects stop generating - iOS only (IMAGE)


    Problem:
    The first auto generated platform shows up, but after that, no other platforms generate.




    Hello,

    I am rebuilding my platform mechanic for my endless runner iOS port as the old mechanic creates too many objects and is resource heavy causing slowdown and some other issues.

    My method:
    I am creating random platforms just off screen to the right, when one crosses one of the colored bars (there are some on screen and a few off screen to the left as well) it generates a new one with a random animation sequence (ie a long or short platform) also just right of the screen.
    This is working awesome on the computer before getting it to my iPhone.

    Problem:
    The first auto generated platform shows up, but after that, no other platforms generate.

    Any ideas?

    Alternate Problem:
    When I ported my first version to the iOS, this happened after around 25 seconds of play but the platforms were generated in a completely different way, could this problem be related?

    Last thing:
    Could this be related to:
    Display mode? (it is currently on standard)
    V-synce? (it is currently enabled)
    Destroy object if too far from screen (i've unchecked that box for all of these objects and it is still not generating them)

    Hi, I can't really tell you what causes this without looking at an example file first.
    It might be a combination of various things.
