    Real time multiplayer

Is it possible to do real time multiplayer over the internet? The network object seems to only work on a LAN and I'm not sure if I want to use lacewing since the developer seems to have stopped supporting it.

Are there any other way like normal plain sockets? Connect to IP and send data. Easy and simple.

Hi thr! If you create multiplayer game for Windows, Android and Adobe Flash you can use Lacewing, if your game for iOS use Game Center Multiplayer! For HTML5 and XNA while not have special extensions for this, but you can use Get Object if your game is simple ( for two players for example ), this solution is absolutely cross platform! But sending data using Get Object is very slow and hard for realization! Lacewing is not have stopped supporting of developer - author, James support and update this extension soon as possible, if you not believe me, ask to him! Moo Sock is not supported for really time, Lacewing is fast, simple and powerful! Enjoy it!

Lacewing is really the only solution for online multiplayer right now. It's very well done, and I really can't think of any reason to need anything else.

make sure your lacewing is properly installed. go into the extension "manager" thing and reinstall all (3) LaceWing objects.

I was tearing my hair out the week before trying to work out what was wrong with LW, and it was simply not installed correctly in that instance.

Also, I recommend looking into how to use binary to send/receive. I'm getting very good results with it now.
    Exciting stuff!

Keep in mind that creating a good performance 'realtime' multiplayer game is VERY difficult.

Google 'dead reckoning systems' to understand what is involved.
Turn based multiplayer is much more straight forward.
