No idea how to even go about doing this.

So, let's say I have two circles that are overlapping each other like this:

When they overlap, I want them to look like this:

How might I do this? Trying to get an effect similar to the borders of a city in Civilization, but my game isn't tile based, so I can't just deal with each tile individually like they do.

You could painstakingly make it an animation... This is an interesting question. Sorry I can't be much help!

The circles won't necessarily hit each other at the same size or angle, and there will often times be more than just 2, so it definitely isn't possible to just animate it.

I'm thinking the surface object may be the way to go, although I've never used it, so I'll have to spend some time working with it and see what I can come up with. I definitely wouldn't turn down the help if anyone else knows how to make this work though. Essentially all I want is the portion of an object that overlaps another object to disappear.

Edit: So, I think I may have figured it out... If you have the size and position of the two objects, you can get the coordinates of where their edges intersect (The yellow points on the picture.) then you draw a line between these two points and erase everything outside of the line on the overlapping object. I'm not sure if I can handle the math for this, but I'll try.
