    Punch action freezes animation

    Hi, I'm making a platform game and want the Active Player to punch other actives when button 1 (shift) is pressed. I don't think there's a problem with my events; it works for a while but after four to seven punches the animation freezes and doesn't change back to 'stopped' or 'walking'. The Active Player still moves, however. If anyone has a few seconds to check my file I'd be very grateful...punchproblem.pngNINJA.mfa

    I have the same problem with my game actually. Would be interested to see a solution! I tried setting an event to reset the animation when it reached the last frame of the punch animation but that didn't fix it.

    I did the same. Hmm... I'm wondering if it's a bug, though I'm surprised there aren't more people noticing if it is. I've seen tutorials on youtube that use similar events to mine on MMF2, but get desired results. I'm using 2.5. I want to make a platform beat-em-up for the OUYA but I've noticed most MMF-created games on there (3T Games for example) are usually either breakout clones or Mario style-platformers (jump-to-kill). It's got me wondering... In the meantime I should probably sideload and test it on the OUYA...

    try this:
    (when changing animation to punch)
    Insert this line first:
    "change animation to Stopped" (or some other animation sequence)
    THEN (on next line, immediately)
    Change animation to punch.

    Also, another essential tool is
    "animation finished"(punch)
    THEN
    Change animation to stopped.

    You need both those lines in there, in my opinion.

    @Kazuya: Thank you so much! I can't fathom how it worked at all before without those extra commands but the "animation finished" event you mentioned has fixed it for good. :-)
