file.keystore questions

Hi

1. I uploaded a game to google play. And I lost my "file.keystore" and details of it due to a Virus ($%@^$%^£$%^)

I can not upload a new version of the game, because it said is not the same key. (Although the names are the same, not the passwords)

Is there a way of fixing this? Like recovering the file.keystore from the .mfa or from the .apk

Or maybe changing the signature in the old game with a new file.keystore


2. Do you need the same file.keystore for all games or you can use a different keystore for different games?

I have done the same, I lost the keystore and was no able to remake it again, because I forgot what put down.

google is very strict with keystores, so even if you email them, they will just ignore your request.

my best advice is that everytime you upload a game or app to email the keystore to yourself to archive it,

or use a cloud service to store a backup. Save the key somewhere in a jump drive, another computer, a CD
and last..well you can write down the keystore on a piece of paper or print it out.

Do you know if you can just change the first apk, with a new keystore?

as long as you have the key you can replace the current .APK
See if you remember what you put down as the key.

I say try to reconstruct the key.

Also if your anti-virus software accidentally deleted it, you an use a free recovery program
and get the real keyback.
