Is a resolution like 720 x 480 (still 16:9) using more memory or does it have any other consequences (antialiasing, graphic bugs, etc.)?
I ask this because I am creating a pixel game which assets would fit perfectly beside the iphone 3 480 x 320 and the iphone 4 960 x 640 resolution.
If I am using the same aspect ratio (16:9) but a resolution between the STANDARD resolutions - the upscaling on my iphone 4 works just fine.
Still I have the feeling that the game runs a bit slower than it does when I set the resolution to the STANDARD.
The aspect ratio of the iphone 4: 960 x 640 could be scaled down to resolutions like:
840 x 560
780 x 520
720 x 480
600 x 400
480 x 320
any ideas if this is ok, good, bad, evil, horrible?
