    Looping "lock up"?

Hi, ive always wondered this and so decided to to ask. When looping through lots or larg amounts of data that takes a while, the application locks and if the window is cliked on it then acts as though its not responding and wil so until the loop is finished. Is there anyway that a loop can be done and the application to contunie (as in multithreading)?

The bit that confuses me is, if i add a progress bar and update it per loop the progress bar does go up, but once again, if you clickinside the window the application halts until the loop has finsihed?

    Thanks
    Andy

Yes its very strange, its really fustrating too because i dont actually want to do anything else whilst the loop is going, I just want the progress bar to go up (as it does) and it not to act as thought the application has crashed.

    Thanks

Ive actually managed to do this different. Instead not use fast loop at all, instead ive made a group which once activated 'always' does the action until no more need and then closes the group. This way it doesnt lock up and seems just as fast for now, we shall see.

Here is an example that uses flag-values, and breaks to loop smaller chunks and display a progress percentage ever X iterations.
