Moving Object With Mouse From It's Own Position. Help Needed.

Instead of having an object positioned to mouse X and Y, I'd like it to move with the mouse from where it's already positioned. While the mouse button is held down the object moves with the mouse like it's attached at a distance, not centered over the mouse. When the button is released the object stops moving.

I've tried playing around with the advanced direction object but can't get it to happen.

    Any help is appreciated.

Hey Sky, I think this page may be useful to you, specifically the section about "Easing"

    http://www.xable.us/quick-tips.php#Easing

You would use the "Mouse Button is pressed" in conjunction with the easing formula to get the object to move. Let me know if this doesn't fit your needs or if you have any questions.

Thanks BaconUk. That's exactly what I was after. Perfect! There's no way I would've figured this out with the mess I was making. Thanks for going to that effort to help a stranger. Much appreciated.

ProdigyX thanks for the info. I'd need some (a lot of) time to get my head around it. My brain is easily fried.

Why not just make it a drag and drop object?

I guess CT don't always do a great job of advertising new features that they implement.. but there's a WAY simpler way to achieve the exact same thing. The drag and drop movement will handle this and more with no extra events.
