Using the Binary Object with large files.

I need to be able to load, and use files of any size with the binary object, but the load time is pretty atrocious. 16MB takes half a minute to load, which is really disheartening, considering I could be using significantly larger files in the future... in the Gigabytes. I just want to know if there's a better object out there for this, or if I can do something to improve performance.

I could benefit from faster file loading too. The problem is how do I get binary data back to ascii? Once it loads the file, i assume it's in a binary format. How do you extract the data into say a list box or a string? It doesn't seem like the binary object can be accessed by any other object such as a global string.

I've been trying to use this, but I can't figure out how. =/

    Anyone have an mfa example?

Afaik, you can just set a string to "get string at", with the first value being the address of the string, and the second the number of characters to read. There isn't actually a binary 'format', it's exactly the same as any other data, it just doesn't have any predefined purpose, like most data does. So, technically binary and ascii are more or less the same thing.

I've used Binary array to handle large binary files in the past (100's of MBs). Its faster than the Binary Object and found it better than the quick load object (in terms of functionality).
