Question INI save file after update - Flash

I need to update my Flash browser game to fix a major bug, but I don't want players to lose their INI save data. Whenever I upload a new SWF, it seems to use its own INI file. Does anyone know how to make updates use the same INI save file?

This topic has been covered for the iOS Export Module, but INI seems to work differently in the SWF exporter.

Thanks for the response. Not sure I understand completely. It can save files using INI, but it seems to be saving to someplace version-specific so that if I upload an update, the save file stays with the old version.

thanks yes i want to meant is that is not a file and is a cookies, but this cookie expire when you re-download again, there are two situation

1.- where the browser don┤t let you save cookies, in this case authorize the cookies for this URL (this procedure depends on the browser).

2.- where you have authorization but the cookies expire and are replaced or the cache size make the PC delete them, so set unlimited cache size

Thanks, FVivolo. Do you know if there's a way to prevent the cookie from expiring when I upload an update to the game? In other words, have the new game file access the old cookie instead of replacing it?

So it's up to the user? I really need a reliable way to access INI data so that I can upload updates and be reasonably certain my players will not lose their save data. I put in a request on the bug tracker here: http://bugbox.clickteam.com/issues/2219

Maybe let the user store their scores and ini data locally, and then reload it? The only other thing I could think of doing is set up a database online to store everyone's stuff..?

    Best of luck,

    -Mike
