cURL object or better GET object?

Hey all, I wanted to know what people wanted more: an object that provides access to the popular cURL library, or a simple upgraded version of the GET object so it supports HTTPS and features like username/password. The latter would be a subset of the former, but the former might not be portable to as many platforms as the latter.

    For reference:
    - An old thread where DracisLooby attempted to make a cURL extension: http://community.clickteam.com/threads/83369-MMF2-cURL-Extension-(Windows-for-now)
    - James' GET object: http://community.clickteam.com/threads/54341-Get-object

If there is going to be either of them, then, as little interest as I have in them at the moment, I'd rather it be more cross-platform, so I went with "improved GET object", since, in the event I do ever need such an object, I'd rather be able to use it in as many runtimes as possible.

We already have a cURL object just released on the ClickStore. Secondly, the GET object is changing very soon... News will be posted on this in the next day or two!

OK, if that is the case, then I will hold off on this.

That Curl object is only for Android. A cross-runtime Curl object would be great.

I asked Anders about achieving this under iOS a while back and he seemed to think that the iOS sandbox wouldn't allow wrapping the cURL libraries into an app... at least that's what I understood. Is there an alternate way this could be achieved?

I don't think anyone knows the true benefits of Curl over the GET object because Get is the only thing anyone knows about.

I want to do a lot more than send a simple get request these days.

I don't have the android exporter so I don't know the capabilities of the extension in the ClickStore, but I would expect that a Windows port would be easy to accomplish.
