    EasyXML crashes Fusion 2.5

    Possible bug found:

    Start a new application.
    Insert EasyXML extension.
On the frame double click the icon and an edit window will appear.
If you click "OK button" things are fine BUT if you click CANCEL Fusion aborts.

    Could someone confirm?

Nope. It doesn't crash for me.

It could be possible you're using the "older" MMF2 version (if you transferred your MMF2 extensions across) -- try re-installing it through the Extension Manager. I know this fixed the File-Folder object.

Thanks for checking I will try reinstalling.

I wish Clickteam would build more intelligent into the product to handles issues like this to keep the extensions up to date...or have a program option that checks and does the installs, updates for the extensions. This takes a lot of time away from being able to work on your program. If Ubuntu and Windows and to updates and patches for their OS and installed programs why not Fusion?

I agree with you, although both Clickteam's and third party extensions do get updated through newer builds of Fusion. They could separate this and update the 'base' product and then the 'extensions' on top, but I think that cause later issues, particularly if an extension then becomes incompatible with an older Fusion build.

I think it would make more sense to have a "verify" feature to check the integrity of installed extensions against the database by hashing them. That way, if you possess a "faulty" or outdated version of an extension, you can quickly get it fixed up.

Back on topic, I just realised the EasyXML extension isn't in the database, hence there is no "re-install" link. Sorry about that.

We'll add the EasyXML object to the Extension Manager, thank you.

droberson, it's done in CF 2.5, it's the Extension Manager that you get when you click Manager in the Insert Object dialog. Though not all the extensions are available through this manager yet, I agree. We add extensions as the time passes.

Could someone give me a link to where to download the EasyXML extension for Fusion 2.5 is. It is listed in the manager but cannot be downloaded. When I select it and click install it says "Cannot download file". Also under source it is left blank on the Manager.

EasyXML is now available in the extension manager, refresh it, you should see the Install link now.

It is listed in the manager but cannot be downloaded
The extension manager also lists the extensions that are on your machine and not on the server, that's why you see it and it hasn't an Install link for it. Maybe I should add an option to hide these extensions.
