Can't install Clickteam Fusion 2.5 because of an error.

About 6 months ago I received Fusion 2.5 from an employer as part of a summer camp program. I ended up not needed to teach the course so I just kept the install file on my hard drive. I am trying to install it now and the installation does not complete. After opening the installer,
    clicking next,
accepting the terms and License agreement,
Hitting next again with my registration code in the text box,
Selecting typical (I've tried all 3, none of them work) and hitting the next button,
And hitting the install button, Fusion 2.5 starts to install

However, about halfway through the install, the "copying new files" bar is replaced by a "Status: Rolling Back Action" bar that moves backwards.

The install then informs me that "Clickteam Fusion Developer 2.5 Setup Wizard ended prematurely."

"Clickteam Fusion Developer 2.5 setup ended prematurely because of an error. Your system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, please run the installation again."

I've tried running the installer several times, restarting my computer, turning off my app/firewall settings, but still this issue persists.

How can I fix this and actually install the software? My initial searches sees nobody with this problem. A similar problem sometimes apparently occurs when installing Microsoft Office, but the fixes for that problem did not when when I applied them to this issue.

The summer camp versions are special and its possible its expired.
If the software is expired then you would need to get a new key from your employer.

That makes sense. Is there a way to check to see if the program/key is expired is is this the behavior that only happens if it is expired?

I am 99.99% sure its expired.

As almost all the summer camps give their instructors versions that expire.
It saves them a lot of money.
The only one that doesn't uses the Standard version of Fusion and you would have a CD-ROM.
