    Microphone Volume Float Retrieval MMF2.5

    I am looking for the easiest way to retrieve microphone volume. I am looking to make a game where the volume retrieved by the microphone affects the atmosphere in game. I don't need anything fancy, I just need the computer to know if the room is quiet or loud. If I can get any kind of gradient inbetween that would be a bonus. Thanks.

    The goal is to check if the room in which the game is played is silent or not silent. I don't need to parse words. I just want the level of audible activity in a room.

    Looking up info on the MCI object I got to

    I don't really know how to parse this. I am looking for something like getAudio or getVolume or getDB. There's a way to record WAVs, but that seems like a really longwinded way of getting the volume.
