2nd Player like in original Super Mario Bros.

    Hey Clickteam,

On the original Super Mario Bros. for the NES, if you are playing the 2 player game and the first player dies, let's say on world 3-1 or whatever, the second player starts on 1-1. How can I recreate this system in my platform game? Would it be, jump to frame that has the 2nd player if the 1st player dies? Thanks Clickteam!

Yes, you could keep a global value that records the highest frame number the player has reached - call them P1LEVEL and P2LEVEL - and when it's the next player's turn, use the "Jump to frame" action, "Use a calculation" and use the name of that global value.

    DavidN,

Thanks man! Also, I just used your Advanced Platform Movement tutorial for my character. Simply amazing! I went from being stuck in walls and doing a weird jump thing when I jumped over an obstacle to pixel perfect movement and detection. It took some searching in the forums, but I even successfully programmed the dreadful "vertical moving platform." LOL. Thanks for that!
