    Looping WAV files over a specfic frame

    Hi yall,

    I've found a few different threads that go through looping a sample over the entire app, but I'm trying to do something different;

    During Frame 1, I'd like to "Sample 1" to loop, and not restart when the frame restarts
    During Frame 2, I'd like "Sample 2" to loop, and not restart when the frame restarts

    I've tried the following
    Code:
    Frame 1 / Frame 2
    Start of Frame then Play Sample
    - this obviously restarts the sample along with the frame

    Then I tried this;

    Code:
    Play sounds over frames = True
    Global events
    Restrict to one action per loop + If Global Variable "Track" = 1 then play Sample "Sample 1" (Loop, Uninterruptable)
    Restrict to one action per loop + If Global Variable "Track" = 2 then play Sample "Sample 2" (Loop, Uninterruptable)

    Frame 1
    Start of Frame = Change Global Variable "Track" to 1

    Frame 2
    Start of Frame = Change Global Variable "Track" to 2
    What I was aiming for was a global event that checked any changes to a global variable "Track" - then changed the sample accordingly. This still caused the track to restart when the frame restarted

    I also tried playing both samples looping/uninterruptable at once on different channels and setting the volume to 0 on the channel that wasn't needed, but this still caused the sample to restart when the frame restarted.

    Are there any example files of this working correctly?

    Cheers.

    I don't think you can use "Restart frame" but instead use "Jump to frame" and select the frame you want to restart.
    I think it should work the same, unless you are using global objects.

    Under frame properties, check "play sounds over frames."

    Frame 1:

    Start of frame
    + Global Value A = 0:
    -> Play and Loop Sample "Frame 1 Music"
    -> Set Global Value A to 1

    Restart frame:
    -> will not affect music

    End of frame trigger (whatever jumps to another frame):
    -> Set Global Value A to 0

    etc...

    Thanks guys! The music kept restarting with the second solution still, but I used the setting of global variables combined with the first solution - much appreciated!

    Yes I believe restarting the frame will restart the sample, no matter if you play sounds over frame.

    Yes, my apologies. When I tested my solution, I did have "Jump to Frame 1," in the event editor not "Restart Frame," but that's not what I typed. "Restart Frame" will simply shut off the music. Also, when you finally jump to another frame, you'll want to "Stop Frame 1 Music."
