    Graphic mode 32768 but using less colors: impact on memory?

    Hi,
    suppose this hypothetical scenario: setting 32768 colors in graphic mode of an application but actually using only 256 colors for each frame. Would the application have the same performance of one natively set with 256 colors?
    Also, when developing graphics for applications with 256 colors, how do you stay within a standard palette for each frame? I'm having difficulty with this: is there a proper procedure, suggestions or guidelines to follow not to exceed the number of the colors set in the palette defined for each frame?

    Windows: Images are converted to 32 bit when you run the application, you won't save anything in memory at runtime. The MFA/EXE might be smaller though.

    iOS/Android: you'll save memory only if you use the Image Compression options in the iOS / Android properties. Using the 256-color mode has no or little effect in this mode as what is analyzed when reducing the colors are the RGB values.

    I think you should avoid using the 256 color mode.
