Haha. I wouldn't say "coming to conclusion" yet. There's still a lot of work to be done. It'll be finished in q1 2017 at the earliest

Well, I fixed the gamepad issue reported by DaveC, and then some. It snowballed into a monster, and before I knew it I'd purchased several different gamepads for testing, and redone my entire input and debugging engineWhile I was at it I polished it up and commented everything so others can use it. I've now released it here: http://community.clickteam.com/threads/98408-VACCiNE-a-universal-gamepad-and-debugger-engine
Excellent game and very good your engine for the PC gamepad, I'm going to try. I'd like to know the statistics of players on PC play with Gamepad against keyboard, I'm inclined to think that a large percentage makes it with the latter since it does not require any type of investment.
Thousand congratulations and I wish all the success of the world!![]()
Thanks, Koji_Kabuto!
It's surprisingly hard to find information about how many PC gamers use gamepads. I haven't been able to myself. It doesn't help that whenever the topic comes up in PC gaming forums, the average IQ tends to drop by 20 points. Some people stick to the "mouse and keyboard are always superior" idea almost religiously, even though for many types of games, this is a naive and objectively wrong view. I'm very much a PC Master Race™ guy, but I use gamepads for a lot of games (I feel somewhat strongly about this issue, and wrote an article about it here)
However, I'm sure that PC gamers with gamepads is a significant minority. Definitely less than 50%, but I would think more than 10% - maybe 20% (this is just speculation though). IT also depends on what genre you're talking about too, of course. I'm sure if you looked at just the people playing racing games or twin-stick shooters, the number would be higher (possibly very much higher), since those types of games better with gamepads, by design. But if you looked at only people who only play shooters or strategy games, very few of them would own a gamepad at all.
Nicetotally missed that you´ve a demo now! Downloaded and will test today, also connected to your Twitter.
I know this is a stretch, but if anyone reading this happens to be in Melbourne, come check out Spryke at Fed Square! Spryke and a handful of other indie games will be part of a big PAX event (or pre-event, as it were, since PAX Aus is in November). We'll be there all day Friday 2nd and Sat 3rd September.
Made a new little critter today
