Resizing all frames of an Active Object

I'm having a particular issue in regards to resizing an active object I'm currently using.

I had created a bitmap font of the size of 8x8, which is of course pretty small.

I want to increase this size, which sounds simple enough, but here is my issue:

The properties of the Active Object allows you to change the height and width, but not simultaneously: You can enter either value, then it applies, then you're allowed to enter the second value, then it applies.

Because of this, its stretching out my font and adding a line where there shouldn't be one, making it look odd.

In the frame window which shows all the pictures, I can stretch individual frames to a larger size without causing any extra lines being made, but there's no way to apply that to all the frames from that window, meaning I would need to do it one at a time.

Is there any way to easily stretch ALL of my active object's frames at once while keeping the quality made by stretching the width and height simultaneously?

You may try a couple of additional options:

    1) clicking the object in the frame editor brings out a surrounding blue "bounding box",
clicking again will show up some black dots on the edges. Drag & drop those edges to scale all of your object's frames to desired size

    2) scaling the object in the event editor (i.e. start of frame >> set scale to (desired scale) )

Since starting size is so small, you may not end up with a satisfactory result however

    Thanks for responding.

Well it seems like its "resampling" the image. Using "Stretch" alone when I go from 8x8 to 16x16 gives me the results I want. Using "Stretch" + "Resample" when going from 8x8 to 16x16 gives me the same results than when I change the object's properties/stretch it using Option 1 of Schrodinger's post.

Odd thing is, there is an option under Picture Editor Preferences that says "Resample when resizing selection or inserting resized frames" which I have since unchecked yet the issue is still occurring, though maybe this option doesn't affect what's done outside of the Picture Editor.

Is there anywhere else, in regards to the frame editor or dealing with objects directly that disables the resampling done when stretching images?

Also, you say starting so small would mean I may not get a satisfactory result, that statement doesn't make much sense. Going from 8x8 to 16x16 is still 1:1 and would normally come out perfect. I assume this resampling is causing it to not come out perfectly.

Edit: I found it. Under the "Frame Editor" Preferences, there is a box for "Resample Images when resizing active and backdrop objects" which I unchecked and has solved my issue when stretching my active object.

    Thanks for the help.

I was referring to the fact that upscaling from small images you're going to get a "pixelated" result,
obviously If this is what you are looking for (or if you have straight edges)
    that could be completely acceptable.

Don't know if you are mentioning the "resample images when resizing active and backdrops" option,
under tools - preferences - frame editor
unticking that shoud prevent resampling as you seem to want

I think it would be pretty miraculous if an 8x8 image with a couple of random colors put in there would stretch out to be a clear-as-day Mona Lisa. Of course I wasn't expecting an upscaled image to not be pixelated. The font itself is an 8x8 pixel font, rather old school game font; I just wanted it to stretch proportionally, but I found the option and all's well now. Thanks for the help.

Well, that's exactly the point I was referring to...
    no Mona-Lisa from a 8x8 pixel image

Sorry if this sounded like overlooking your knowledge on the matter,
I just meant to be "generic" on the topic

No, no, its fine. I did tech support in the past. Its usually better to assume the person you're helping knows minimal and explain it as such.

    Thanks again.
