I want to automatically move a character during a story segment - i.e. a few steps to the left in a platform game. What is the best way to achieve this?
Before, I used timer conditions (i.e. move 1 pixel left every 0.1 secs) with a static object character or set the character's movement to bounce (start and stop once destination reached).
However, these methods aren't reliable because if the player clicks away from the screen or click and hold on the top part of the window (which pauses the movement) or do something that creates lag in the background - the object may suddenly speed up and the end positioning will be slightly off.
