HTML5 video object not working on iPads

Hi,
I use the HTML5 video object to play a cut scene in one of my ipad compatible HTML5 games, but the video does not run in either iPad of Android. It works fine on PC/Mac. Using Safari on iPad and Chrome & standard Samsung Internet app on Android.

My question is: Is this a bug or do I have to program the object differently when intending to run on tablets/smartphones?

It's most likely the format/codec of the video. Certain web browsers support specific formats, and some don't. I think Chrome for Android may have greater chances of success.

I'm not sure if the HTML5 Video Object automatically converts them (like Fusion does for sounds). Instead, you could identify the type of device and play a different video in a format that's supported. I can't remember off top of my head which one to recommend. But if you have an MP4, try OGV (OGG) / WebM and vice versa.
