    Question about activating groups

I've been playing around with optimizing my code by using groups for everything. I've started to add groups inside groups and was wondering: is there a way to activate a group and all subsequent groups inside that group or do I need to just make one event and activate each group individually?

Once you deactivate a group, any group within will also be deactivated. Think about shutting off the breaker for your home. Nothing inside the home will work.

    I don't think that's what ierofei's asking, nivram.

See attached file. It's impossible to show "ear" without hitting H and E. If I understand correctly, ierofei would like to be able to activate both groups by simply hitting H. Is that right, ierofei?

I suspect there isn't a way to do it, because there isn't a "use expression" option when choosing which groups to activate/deactivate, which means you wouldn't be able to do it with some any kind of clever code trick.

It might be worth posting this as a feature suggestion, because it's definitely a useful idea. All it should take, interface-wise, would be a adding a checkbox called "include subgroups" to the dialog that lets you choose which groups to activate/deactivate

Ah. Thank you, Volnaiskra. That's exactly what I was looking for. I'm really surprised that feature is not built in already!

Just run a loop when you activate the first group that also activates the second group. If you needed to activate more groups, just run other loops

I think the main issue with that is that you'd need to remember to add a line of code every single time you added or nested another group.

Not a huge deal, but definitely more time consuming and prone to human error than if fusion could do subgroups automatically

You could also just activate the second group in the same line you activate the first one. Dunno why I complicated it at first :P
