Creating objects on a layer with 0 coefficient while scrolling

I have a layer that sits above everything and has 0 coefficient so I can create a fading animation that covers the screen. I thought I would be able to do this regardless of whether the screen was scrolling or not because I thought setting 0 should make it independent from the scrolling playfield.

When I initiate the fade and the screen is still it works fine, but if the screen is scrolling while that happens the fader appears a little, and sometimes quite far off the screen borders.

Is there a way to stabilize this problem, I'm guessing it's probably going to be a cheap fix but I don't mind..

Thanks in advance for any help

Having a coefficient of 0 has always worked for me for fades... can you make sure there are no events moving the object, and that its "Follow the frame" checkbox is checked?

There is nothing moving the objects, the are set to build from the top left as in 0,0. Follow frame is checked, but I have tried it both ways really confused...

Try this example - It's an static object, I checked off follow the frame
when you press spacebar it creates a new fade object from the static object
so i didn't have to change the x coefficient.
