How to track moving object path

Not sure how easy this is, but I'm trying to find a way to track a top-down objects movement path. I then want to check if it's just moved in a circular path and then run an event.

I was thinking I could somehow use the surface object, but I should note that I'm using Android and it's not available.

Any ideas on how to best achieve this?

    Cheers guys.

I've figured out you can create and recognise "gestures" with the Multiple Touch Object, which is kinda similar. However I would like this done with an object, rather than the touch itself because the object intentionally "lags" behind the finger.

    No one have any ideas?

simplest way i can think of:

set an invisible "start" object to where your object is

every frame, take atan2 of new pos - old pos. if it's a circle it should either be increasing/ staying the same each frame, or decreasing/staying the same. whenever it switches directions you know it's not a circle so set the "start" object to its position again.

if your object manages to exit and re-enter the "start" object without failing via the above trigger, you have a circle (well, could be any one of a number of shapes. depends on how accurate you need it. )
