How to make the players jump less floaty with the PMO Object?

I've been tinkering around with the gravity in the PMO settings, but every time my player jumps - it takes a few seconds for him to land on the ground as if he was underwater. I increase the gravity to maybe fix the problem but then his jump strength then just stops working. Is there any alternative or certain way I can do this?
