Performance when deleting a line or de-activating a line in event sheets

    Hi,
I'm going to optimize event sheets in a game, by removing lines and groups that are not strictly required for each level.
My question: deleting a line and de-activating a line in an event sheet has the same impact on performance? Are de-activated lines stripped out when running the project/generating the application?
    Thanks!

Deactivating and deleting a line is different. Deactivating a line is useful for debugging purpose so you could easly activate again when needed. I'm not really sure how they impact performance but all I know is that a deactivated line will be skipped while a deleted line will not even be there to be skiped so Logically I think deactivate will affect performance but you wont even notice it.

There doesn't seem to be noticeable difference

I made a quick test with a simple modification to this tool used for testing distance formulas speed:
    http://community.clickteam.com/threads/94479-Calculating-distance-Adv-Direction-Object-vs-expression/page3?highlight=distance+expression

I added and deactivated this line:

    speed_test.jpg

(an additional onloop event being run 5000000 times)

    and line deactivated
    versus line deleted
there was no difference in the test result (same time to perform the loop)

also, tried copy-pasting same line about 100 times (holding ctrl-v)
and again coulndn't see any difference in hundreds of seconds outputted

so this *seems* to indicate there should be none

    Wow, thanks!
Probably lines are totally ignored or stripped out during runtime, that makes perfectly sense.
I wanted to know because sometimes it is more convenient for me avoid deleting lines, in case I want to add/modify something in a second moment.

Yeah, always better avoid deleting and risk losing reusable things!
I sometimes wished I deleted less

Yes, they are removed from the final build (output), so dependent on what they are; deactivating them could improve performance if not needed and you can keep them in your sources for future reference.
