    Is there a limit to the number of internal sounds per level on Android?

    Hi there I'm exporting to Android, I'm basically making a virtual guitar where you touch a note and it plays.

    I created all the sounds for one string (25 different sounds) and when I tested it on my computer and phone (Nexus 5x) everything worked fine.
    I then added 25 more sounds for the next string. It worked great on my computer and the apk built fine. But when I loaded it on my phone it took ages to load and once it had none of the sounds worked.

    I'm guessing there's a limit on the number of sounds you can have internally on Android? Or perhaps the cache is getting full? In total I'll need 150 sounds I'm wondering if this is possible?

    They're all ogg files at 96 bitrate.

    Should I try having them all external will this help and still have quick playback? What#s the pros and cons of internal and external sounds?

    Also in the Data>Elements they're all set to Options>Preload, would On Call or from Disk be better?

    1. oh there is a confusion with sounds in android, there is not limit only what is impose by the device itself(memory), check that even if your sounds are ogg, mp3 or any other codec they are compressed and when they are loaded they are uncompressed and hold for you to use, so if you have many sound it will be really a lot of memory in use. (this is all about preload)

    2. try set short sounds as play from disk if the device is fast it will do in a small amount of time, to do so you can change the amount of secs in android properties (force "play from "disk for sound large than XX secs)

    also provide me with a small mfa with all sounds (please only play sounds features no graphic, or event only sounds) for me to test here.

    Hi there, I can't find this option you mentioned (force "play from "disk for sound large than XX secs) where is this?

    There's only sounds on the 2 strigs at the bottom of the screen.

    Would I be better of using .wav?

    go to data elements and check in sounds, change there to load on call, and play for disk see if the behavior changes

    I've tried changing all the sounds to different settings in here "load on call" didn't work at all, with just 3 sounds "play from disk" stutters and stops playing all together.
    "Preload" works great with three sounds, but when I add more the app takes ages to load and also the sounds don't play.

    Just wondering if you had time to look at my file and see if there's anything you cab see wing with it?

    yes I saw it:

    1./ the logic of touch which involve multitouch is not that simple as you put there if you want to play compass, etc.
    2./ why don't use channel it better and allow you to organize your work and sounds
    3./ only lower sounds I guess, why don't use wav if the sound are short?, this sounds stereo, 44100 and 98Khz bitrate should be ok in many or almost all tablet.

    Great thanks for taking a look Fernando.
    So in the video have you tweaked settings to make it work? If so could I have a look at your .mfa please?

    1./ Are you saying I have implemented multitouch badly?

    2./ I'll have a look at channels, are you suggesting one sound per channel, I believe there's only 32 Channels?

    3./ I thought .ogg was best but I guess I'm wrong? So I should have them all .wavs mono and 98Khz bitrate. Correct? Also should they all be set to "Preload" or "Play from disk"?
