Cool Douglas Circumstance: Monster Extermination Company - A remake of a classic TGF game!

    Hi all!
Riko from Fallen Angel Industries here. Some of you might remember our group from over a decade ago. More recently I'm just Jesse from A Jolly Corpse

I wanted to take a moment and show off what I've been making with MMF!

Douglas Circumstance: Monster Extermination Company is a classic PC platform shooter set in a world full of memorable monsters and animated characters. It's a unique combination of pixel-perfect platforming, twitch shooting, and secret-hunting, like a mashup of NES classics Mega Man, Metroid, and Duck Tales. Controlling Douglas Circumstance, the player takes dangerous cases from troubled clients with monster infestations and exploring a series of challenging non-linear levels. Each 2D stage involves navigating a labyrinth packed with traps, monsters, puzzles, and hidden secrets.

The Games Factory original dates back to 2003, when I made a quick little game called Douglas Circumstance that was pretty popular in our little community (but hasn't aged very well!) I liked the character and have always wanted to make a proper game for him. I started getting back into the swing of MMF last year, and after teaming up with Jay Tholen to make Dropsy, I decided it was time to make it happen.

Now I'm trying to bring the game to life with this Kickstarter!

Jay and I are asking for your help making the game a reality. If you're able to support it by backing, that'd be awesome. If you can't, I'd love if you could spread the word however you're able.

    Thanks for your time!

    Jesse

That reminds me of some really good SNES games. And the pixel art is beautiful.

Wow, thank you, that's high praise The color palette is actually a modified NES palette.

Thanks a lot! It's been a long road to get back to MMF but I'm having a lot of fun.

Hey Jesse, good to see you're still making games. I enjoyed the first Douglas Circumstance game. The new bosses seem to have interesting personalities as well as being fantastically grotesque. Good luck with the kickstarter!

Hey Nim, good to see you too! Yep still chugging along. Really glad you like the bosses, personality has definitely been my number one priority in designing them.

    Thanks for the well wishes!
