Create Shadow and move object "Upward" (As an illusion) When clicked and held on

I want to make a game that utilizes this. It would work like this: When you click and hold on an object, the object moves like it's 3D, upward. Smoothly, without any animation needed. And a shadow gets created behind it. It would be a really nice effect if I could get it to work. How would I do it?
