List Object - Deactivate hidden shortcuts?

    Hey,

I noticed that the list object has some hidden shortcuts, the arrow keys to control the item selection, but also W that selectes each 5th next element and S that always selects the first item. I would like to deactivate the W and S shortcuts, how is it done?

    Thanks.

List Object - Deactivate hidden shortcuts?

You can use keyboard objects to disable W and S when list object has focus and revert to normal when list object doesn't have focus

I need the S key and focus on List object at the same time, cause I want to assign another list operations on my S key. Still I tried your suggestion, it does not work with W and S. For any other key, yes. I guess these hidden shortcut are some general shortcuts, maybe can't be deactivated at all?

Do you need mouse control over the list? Otherwise you could override its various commands.

I wonder if the W & S shortcuts are specific to certain verions of windows. They don't have any function on my Windows 10 laptop.

Here's an example of controlling a list with your own commands:

    Example: exampleList2.mfa

Unfortunatley, since the List Object is a windows control object, you can't limit functions such as keyboard commands as long as it has focus. I guess you could add an event where the list only has focus when the mouse is over it.

    Edit: I updated the example...

List Object - Deactivate hidden shortcuts?

Are you sure S and W are shortcuts for those things and not just the letters those lines start with? I know you can press a letter to cycle through each line that starts with that letter. Maybe rewording the list could be useful.

You could try having list Objext only having focus when mouse is overlapping it. Then manually set up and down arrow to change the current line. That way you could still mouse it but the letter keys won't get in the way.
