I messed a little bit around with the surface object (Just for fun while I was working on my game) and created a small and simple WORMS engine.
I guess everyone here know what worms is and so I pass on the details
Basically the game is about two worms who have to kill each other. Every worm has 20sec. for it's turn.
You can move and triggering one action (a shot) in the time.
After the 20sec. are over, the next player has his turn.
Each worm only have one life in this example. (you can even die on suicide, so be careful)
This engine includes the following features:
- classic worms movement (go, jump, shoot)
- destructible terrain
- weapon selection (3 weapon to keep things simple)
- round based fighting system
- 2 player game (hot-seat)
- some bugs (i'm pretty sure you can find some )
The graphics and engine are quite simple, but should give you some ideas on creating games like this
