How do I Get The Score To Update In An Odometer-Style

Does anyone know how to do an odometer-style effect (such as for the score) where the numbers appear to roll vertically, like a slot-machine movement, only much slower?

Make an animation of the numbers rolling down, from 0..9 and back to 0 again. Let's say it takes five frames for it to get from one digit to the next. Make a row of these Active objects for each digit. Figure out what digit you want each one to be (easiest way is probably to print the score to a string and look at each digit using a fastloop). Now keep adding to the frame of the Active until it reaches this digit, times 5. You'll have to add a special case for when it loops back to 0.

If you want the lower-order digits to flip wildly when the upper ones do, just have an alterable value for buffered rotations; each time an upper digit flips, add a full rotation to the lower digit's alterable value, which will be depleted gradually as it spins.
