Fruit ninja slash effect, so close!

    Hey guys,

So I'm trying to make an ios app with a slash effect, I was super happy to find an example one created by DTownTony! Only it uses the mouse and not the multitouch for tracking. I've tried to re-make it using the multitouch object and it almost works apart from sometimes glitching when the touch begins, I can't figure out why this is!

If anyone could take a look at it I would be very grateful!

    Cheers,
    Lachy

Hey ratty, I'm building this just for IOS.

My next issue now is working out how to do "combo" slashes, I've come up with a system that is sort of working but it seems that really fast swipes arent detected as accurately as slow swipes. Has anyboday dealt with this before or have a better idea for how to manage detection of multiple objects getting hit in a single swipe? I think mine could be refined.

Any help much appreciated, the file link is below...

Not much will work unless the slash effect only starts to disappear after the end of touch. It's inconsistent because the slash active doesn't stay as a solid, it starts to disappear as soon as it's created.

does this fix your issue? I believe it's just a problem of instancing.

I tried it out of curiosity Dave and there is still inconsistencies with a fast swipe. Curiously when I moved all actives over the top of each other it worked 100% of the time (width of 32), I also tried all actives in an area with a width of 64 - again 100% accuracy. Width of 96 100%. When they are spread over an area 128 wide or more the inaccuracy starts. Even if you make the actives 200 in height it makes no difference, something is causing the slash effect to break up so that it doesn't register the collision.

I see, because he was resetting the swipe each time it hit an object. How about this?
