Using array with HTML5 -works local but not for Build & Run or on-line

    Hi all,

There are a number of issues I am working through on this application

    1) Active Pictures don't show up (Build & run) - that was reported in another thread.

    2) I cannot get the application to load in an Array, works fine when running the "Frame", however, build & run as well as from on-line does not work.

To see the application, this link will take you to the on-line version (which is currently very broken)

Any ideas what I can try?

Latest update on this rather un-pleasant programming experience.

I have come up with a work around for the Active Pictures by using ACTIVE instead.

The array file issue just seems to be very elusive. Reading through every post in the HTML5 section and having read the few shreds of documentation available, I think I am doing everything correct.

I assume the problem has to do with the online application finding the Array file, to make sure it could find it, I placed a copy in every directory (on line) See images below of ftp locationFile Name.jpgResources Dir.jpgRoot dir.jpgSRC Dir.jpg

Does anyone out there have any suggestions on what I can do?

You would have to add the files into the application's Data Elements. Whatever the local path is for the files, at runtime only the filename is taken into account.

    Thanks Olivier,

KlickHappy also helped me understand this issue too and I think for the benefit of all, I will add a few more details.

To get to the place to add "Data Elements", from the top menus, select "VIEW" then select "Data Elements". This brings up a pop-up window. Select the tab "Binary Data", click "Add", then select your array file. Close the dialog box with the Red X.

In your event to load the array, select "Files" then "Load Array from Files". Use the file selector to select your file. The entire path to that file should be what is shown.

That is it. From there, the magic happens in the background. The array file is compiled into the application so you don't need to manually copy the array file into your website.

I will report back if I determine any other details.

Many thanks to Olivier and especially to KickHappy for helping me out on this!

As a quick note. As long as a file is present in the Data Elements, at runtime you can just load it using its filename i.e. no path.
