    8-Direction movement diagonal speed

    Hi,

    My game character is using the 'eight directions' movement type but he's slower when moving diagonally.
    I've tried searching the forum about this but cannot find a definitive answer.

    is there a way to fix it?

    The character should actually be faster when moving diagonally if you're using the 8 direction movement.

    Then I'm doing something wrong, its definitely slower, I'd say roughly 25%-30% slower. its very noticeable.

    Weird I just did a little test and didn't see anything odd.

    You can throw a counter on the screen and have it always display the objects speed -- Just to debug and see how much slower it says it is.
    My little test it had the same value.

    Does the object itself have different graphics in that direction?

    Thanks for that. I added a counter and set it to the players speed, when I run my game it showed 30 for left/right/up/down and.. 30 for diagonal.

    I guess its just my imagination then or my eyes are telling me porkies. hehe Sorry
