    Playing sound effects not working

    Hi all,
I am having an issue where my code looks like this

Upon a bullet colliding with "enemy group" - play sample

The sample is a .MP3 which is sitting on my PC however it does not play.

I can get the sounds effect to play by using the Direct Show option, however it only works for the first hit of anything in the "enemy group", anything else it hits which is also in the "enemy group" doesn't have this sound effect play.

    any ideas greatly welcomed

Did you try to add "only one condition if event loops" or whatever it says :-D otherwise the sounds can behave weird and try to play multiple times over and over again as long as the bullet is in contact with the enemy.

Yeah, tried that and it made no difference, strangely when I use the samples built into fusion (.wav) files, these work without any issue at all, going to try to convert my sound files to .wav and see if it makes any difference.

    I would suggest OGG files.

They are as small as MP3 and don't require you to pay a license fee.

I'd have to go look it up but I don't think Fusion internal sound engine will play MP3 files unless you also have the Flash export module.
But that might have changed... can't remember.

I'd still go with OGG -- there are some good free sound converters if you google around.

yeah, ogg format is a good choice....unless u happen to be creating for the ios platform, then ogg files take up the same space as wav files. thought this might be fixed in the latest 285.2 Build, but looking at the Change log there is no such luck. >__<

The MP3 playing filter is only added to Fusion when you have the Flash or iOS export modules (I believe)
It doesn't come with the stock Fusion that creates Windows executables.

Looking into providing it separately or adding it to the base product.

Once you have the filter using it in Windows isn't a problem at all but I would encourage people to use other formats.
The licensing for MP3 usage can be a hassle.
