    I will break it down for you mate.

    - My desktop resolution is 1600x900
    - The games resolution is 400x240

    When I use the direct show object it plays fine.

    But the game is set to maximise and resize display so 400x240 fits 1600x900 (or any other resolution).

    When the direct show is played it only fills 400x240 because that it's size, the same size as the frame.

    So what we get is the direct show in the top left filling 400x240 and the rest of the 1600x900 is white because that's the background of the frame.

    There is no automatic scale option in event editor or in the properties for direct show.


    Direct show must scale to fit the users main desktop resolution which in my case mine 1600x900.

    Edit -- So the AVI object does this fine but then its the speed problem?

    Thanks Jeff, all I want it todo is scale like the rest of the application does.

    Edit -- Yes the avi object scales fine but has the speed issue.

    No not yet - Was talking to Fernando about some other video objects he has in production.

    I was doing some experiments with setting the width and height of the Active Direct Show to the frame size.
    Perhaps see if that can do something for you.

    I have found a work around for this issue, it's not great at all! But it does the job.

    Anyone having issues this will help you.


    First if you want to use Full motion video with audio follow these steps.

    - In the objects select "Animation"
    - Pick your .avi file
    - Your .avi should have the same resolution as your game.
    - Test video and you will see that you have no sound!
    - Convert your video sound to an .ogg file (Yes you need two files!)
    - In the event editor time equals to 0.65 seconds play your .ogg (Time may differ on your system / game settings to keep it in sync)
    - Play frame again and now you should have video with external sound in sync

    Adding video should be as simple as a Klik'n'Play

    As soon as you build your game, make sure the video files are in your games .exe folder or otherwise you will be left with the frames background colour and just video sound!

    Hi Jeff, thank you to yourself and the team at Clickteam for the update.

    The .avi object has been fix now with the speed issue. But now I have noticed another issue with the object which needs a look at.

    Layers!

    If you have a graphic on layer 2 for example sprite based text, and you have the .avi on layer 1.

    The .avi object will take priority over everything. Meaning it will cover everything else which is "To Front" or on a higher priority layer.

    Hope you can solve this, but well done thus far.
