Glitchly collisions with 8 directions movement.

Hi, I'm fairly new here and I'm attempting to create a top down RPG game. For an example:

Object 1 (The player) is set to an 8 directions movement

When Object 1 collides with Object 2 (For example, a wall) Object 1 stops.

Whenever I try this movement in game it makes object 1 repeatedly press against the wall. Can anyone help me fix this or find another way of making it work?

Search for the forums for "custom movement" or "8 direction custom movement" etc. Using the built in movements gives results like you describe, better to make your own movement so you have full control over it.
