    Why does scrolling Text Blitter scroll in wrong direction?

    I've noticed the text blitter scrolling options scrolls from left to right for some stupid reason. This means the text has to be read from right to left... backwards.
    I can't see anywhere to reverse the direction of the scroll. Doesn't make any damn sense why the default is to scroll in the wrong direction.

    can you set the scroll to -1 ?
    That should mean from right to left.

    There is no option to set scroll -1, there is only speed with 1 being the fastest.

    Since I couldn't get that to work I just set the speed to 0 and made the blitter a bouncing ball movement and set it to move left instead. The downside to that is the words eat themselves towards the end of the movement (end of the scrolling message) for some f'ked up reason so I compensated by changing the width of the bitter to about half the total length of the text. The other downside to this is it doesn't repeat. Once it's moved off the end of the screen on the left it's out into the void. I did contemplate adding an active it collides with and re-sets it's position back to the start but since the blitter is 17405 in length that makes it pretty much impossible to do.

    If I used a timer instead to re-set it's position there's a bug in MMF2 where you can't reset the timer. Well it never works for me.

    Hi. I was wondering the same thing about text Blitter. My resolution is using a Static String object with Movement settings as follows:

    Any Text Object: Movement = Sinwave
    On Completion = reset
    Line Properties:
    Speed = 50
    Final X = where you want the text to stop on left of screen and reappear from right screen origin.
    Final Y = what area to scroll across screen
    Sinwave Properties:
    Amplitude = 0
    Angular velocity = 0
    Starting Angle = 0

    Make the back color of the text object the same as that of a backdrop

    I also lengthen the static string if the string is longer than the original size of static string object.

    This may be a start and will need tweaking.

    Tom.

    Static string lengthening and reduction is done during running program as in a scrolling news headline.
