    Unhappy Styrbjorn's Platform engine: Where I can find the latest version?

    I have an old version of this engine, that doesn't have moving platforms and other features...
    I was going to ask how can I implement it, but I think it's easier to ask if someone has the source of the latest...

    Here's the version I have (I just removed the fancy level loader to make things simple and added these moving actives that doesn't have any collision):
    platformengine template.mfa

    You can't download it anymore anywhere that's for sure. I searched the whole web. You could ask the people who downloaded the file in the past though(DaveC for example). I guess that's your only chance now to get this version of Styrbjorn's Platform engine(2013).

    Judging by the comments in the thread you linked, he did not post the updated source in that thread, only an .exe version.

    Yep, that's the same version I have. Well, this situation sucks
    If at least he could upload the updated source, but he doesn't reply any message...
    I don't even will ask for a someone to decompile it since it's not cool to do this... Even with an old never used example...

    I want to make my own custom engine, but I still doesn't fully understand how fastloops are used in obstacle detection / gravity / acceleration / speed...
    But the Styrbjorn's Platform Engine is so stable, fast, flexible... I really would like those missing features added to it...

    If someone could help me to add these features, let me know :/

    And about PMO engines, it's really difficult to make it behave consistently, the values sometimes doesn't even make sense, it's not that good for me that want to finetune it exactly to the feel I want.

    there have been LOADS of platform movements over the years.. I don't think there is anything particularly special about Styrbjorn's engine.

    As an alternative, this one popped up in the forum lately, have you taken a look at it?

    I havent checked Styrbjorn but i doubt it's something super special that other engines dont have. Imo this one is simple, good and has a lot of features that you can tweak. http://www.clickteam.com/custom-platform-movement.html

    Styrbjorn is super easy to tweek, I've modified a lot and got a lot excited by how much stable and consitent it is.
    I'm thinking in trying to tweek this engine you mentioned, but the first problem is that moving platforms need detectors, this sucks, I would like to use plataforms in any shape, no detectors, just a qualifier...
    Also, it doesn't look like it work with slopes.

    DaveC, I missed your post, yes I saw this engine that will be released soon, I'll definitely buy it.
    But really, Styrbjorn engine looks just like any other by default, but it has a lot of potential, it's well organized, lightweight and so on...

    That guy that made a Super Mario Bros / All Star engine recently with PMO, works great, feels great, but behave so inconsistently sometimes...
    For example, jumping on a turtle will bounce you up, but not on a shell, and both events are basically the same, I've tried to make Mario bounce in the damn shell, it never happened.

    I'm just concerned about performance in this RAGE's engine, and I'm really curious about the events, how it's organized, how easy is to tweak... But I'm looking foward to it.

    Edit: It just got released?? I'll buy it right now!
    Edit2: It's awesome! Please be easy to tweak to the point I stopped with the Styrbjorn!
    Well, for now I'll use the RAGE, BUT, I'll keep looking for the Styrbjorn, It's something I can't explain, it just felt great xD
