Question Fusion Preferences Question on "Extensions-to-Ignore" Tab

Hello and thanks for any and all answers in advance.

I have been doing some extensive exploring of the menus and items thereunder within Fusion 2.5 and ran across this tabbed item in the Preferences dialog under the Tools Menu (see attached image)

I am curious as to when this would be useful and how it should be used.

    Thanks again for any answers.

    Michael

Good question. In my understanding there are two potential scenarios where disabling an extension from loading on start-up might be useful.

    1) Sometimes you might want to disable an old extension from loading by default it is causing problems (e.g. Quicktime object had problems with Vista's Aero mode).

    2) As noted at http://community.clickteam.com/threads/42672-Speed-up-MMF2-loading-times and http://community.clickteam.com/threads/67098-loading-unloading-extensions-on-opening-MMF2?p=498381&viewfull=1#post498381 if you have many extensions or inefficient extensions that do too much when loaded then it could also result in noticeably slower loading times on older PCs, and this could be resolved by disabling those extensions from loading on start-up.

EDIT: Did some searching, and the 'Extensions to Ignore' feature was introduced in MMF2 Build #255 in June 2012 with the following explanation:
new 'Extensions to Ignore' tab in the Preferences. Allows you to ignore some extensions when MMF2 starts. For example if you use both the normal and Unicode versions of MMF2, you can ignore old crashing EDIF extensions only in the Unicode version. Also, when an extension crashes MMF at start, the new build automatically detects it when you restart it and the crashing extension is added to the Extensions to Ignore tab.
